Isager

Front view of the Isager barn.

The former field barn is a circa 17th century structure partially re-built / remodelled in the 18th century and lies on a raised knoll 300m South-West of Llanfair Hall, and adjacent to a former gate keepers lodge called Isgaer.

More about this project…

The site is located alongside the Felinheli / Caernarfon Road and as noted on the inset history maps lay near to the former L&NWR Bangor & Caernarfon branch line which ran on the approximate line of the Felinheli / Caernarfon Road.

From the historic maps it also indicates that there was more woodland around the Keepers Lodge, Isgaer and perhaps the field barn, however the site is far more open farmland (grazing) presently.

The barn is being sensitively restored into a two-bedroom lodge for holiday lets to support the diversification of the farm it resides within and is fully supported by the local conservation officer.
