Bangor Library

This has attached the Grade 1* Main Arts Building by Henry T Hare, designed around two courtyards, the larger of which was never completed (later enclosed with ranges by Sir Percy Thomas 1966-1970 New Arts).

More about this project…

The project involved the re-location of some of the Library services between the New Arts Library and a sensitive refurbishment of a basement area of the Main Arts Building to be used as a archive for rare books and publications.

The basement area required the refurbishment and replacement of some of the original Critall steel windows and the extension of an external path and ramp matching Yorkstone and random coursed stone to the original.

Other works included creating open plan areas as study spaces in the New Arts Library.
