TH1 Hairdressers

Entrance to the TH1 Hairdressers salon.

was a small hair salon wishing to relocate its business from Beach Road, Bangor to a more suitable and prominent position within the city so as to maintain and increase its client base.

Moriah Chapel on Caernarfon Road, Bangor at first seemed an unusual choice of premises however it gave the client the open plan layout and space they required for the expanding business.

The project was completed early 2006.

More about this project…

The chapel had been empty for some years before our commission and was laid out in the typical chapel arrangement with seating area and pulpit to the main chapel with Sunday school room to the rear.

Our brief was to redesign the space to provide an open plan, light and airy hair and colour salon, beauty treatment rooms and client and staff facilities.

We achieved this by creating the open plan hair and colour salon to the ground floor and removing the existing chapel porch from the front and replaced it with a pair of large frameless glass doors which gave passers by a clear view into the salon removing barriers on approach.

TH1's reception area with staircase leading to upper floor.

We also introduced a mezzanine floor to accommodate the new beauty treatment rooms with full height space to create a gallery to the front with a new modern feature staircase.  TH1 hair and beauty salon opened its new premises within Moriah Chapel in 2007 and has continued to prosper within its new premises with much praise from the proprietor and clients alike.
