An old white rendered stone cottage in a stunning location set in open country side on the banks of the Menai Straits had been disfigured by a poorly thought out extension some years ago.
The client wanted to update the aesthetics of the property, turn it into a family sized home and exploit the view across the open country side but not spoil the quality and proportions of the original property.
It was therefore decided to replace the existing extension with a larger open plan kitchen/family room and sunroom to the front of the property, not only to provide additional light to the ground floor open plan area, but also to provide a focal point entrance that the previous property was lacking. Additional bedroom and second sitting room/study was also provided in an extension to the rear.
The interiors were kept simple and spacious with open high volumes were possible with tiled floors, neutral carpets and a stunning feature oak staircase. Quality fixtures and fittings with a simple colour scheme were used to show off the clients carefully chosen furniture to great effect
